| When you begin writing articles for website directories or even your website you need to know a little about keyword densities and anchors. At first, this might sound like a different language to you. However, it is really easy to understand these two terms and implement them into your writing. Keyword Densities When you are writing an article you will want to focus on certain keywords. The reason this is important is because it gives a theme to your article as well as helps the article in the search engines. Your goal is to have your article receive a high ranking in the search engines in part as a result of the keyword density within the article. But, you must be very careful here. Some people imagine that if they have a high keyword density their article will do better than others. This is not necessarily the case, at least not anymore, and you can actually get penalized by Google and other search engines for “keyword stuffing”. Avoid this and simply sprinkle keywords and their synonyms throughout the article. When you read the article it should sound natural and not be obvious that you are trying to incorporate the keyword. Sometimes you will find it quite difficult to incorporate certain keywords in your article. This is because they don’t always make sense to you or they don’t have the right tense. You will want to write with this keyword in mind because people are searching for it, but it is challenging to write about. When this happens you have to get creative. Use the keyword in subtitles or in a list to make it easier to incorporate. It might take a little longer, but those hard to write on keywords can actually be a gold mine so don’t shy away from them! When it comes to keyword densities try and stay between 1-2 percent. Or, don’t even worry about percentages. Instead, simply place the keyword in the title and once in every paragraph. That’s a great rule of thumb to follow! Anchors Most article directories will allow you to include several anchors or links in the articles you submit. It is very important to take advantage of all of them because these links will help increase your website’s popularity with the search engines. As a result, read the rules each article directory has regarding links and then be sure to include the maximum allowed in your articles! You will benefit and you can even save your signature so you don’t have to rewrite it every time. These are just a few tips regarding keyword densities and anchors to keep in mind. However, Google and the other search engines change what they are looking for and what is allowed every so often so it is a good idea to stay on top of the newest trends!
